The Role We are looking for someone who loves the diversity of mixed farming and wants to get stuck in. This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same task all week; it will be balancing a composite sheep flock and growing beef herd with a robust cropping program, meaning there is always something new to focus on. Operating two properties in close proximity, aggregating 6,000 hectares, the established family business holds work ethic and manners in the highest regard. Cereal, Oilseeds, and Broad Bean are dryland-cropped on 1,400 hectares, with all harvested crop stored within the 8,000 tonnes of on-farm storage. Additionally, seven centre pivots assist in producing fodder for livestock. The composite flock also provides a large focus of the enterprise with 6,500 ewes producing wool and prime lambs. The beef element of the business continues to grow, with a focus on a herd of 2,000 breeders producing progeny for the trade steer markets. This is a hands-on role that will see you involved in all aspects of the operation, working closely with the owners and a tight-knit team where communication and a positive attitude are key. The Employer Your prospective employers are a forward-thinking family business that understands the value of a good team. They believe in working hard, but also know that a comfortable and safe work environment is non-negotiable. Proud of what they have built and the team they have nurtured, they genuinely enjoy mentoring staff who show a real passion for agriculture. We aren't just looking for a pair of hands; we're looking for someone who wants to learn, grow, and be part of a long-term business journey. The Offer In return for your dedication, you will be offered a quality remuneration package and a comfortable place to call home. You will be accommodated in a house on the farm, with utilities (including internet) covered, as well as a work vehicle and ATV for farm use. The property is situated in a fantastic part of the Limestone Coast. It's a great location that offers the perfect balance of rural living with easy access to schools, local amenities, and community clubs. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone with a "can-do" attitude who enjoys the challenge of mixed farming. While we value experience, we are happy to train the right person who shows genuine drive and an interest in agriculture. Proven agricultural experience, with a solid grounding in livestock husbandry. Proficiency in operating modern agricultural machinery and handling diverse livestock classes. Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to team collaboration and transparent communication. A proactive mindset with a genuine eagerness to learn new farm management systems and take ownership of tasks. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, with experience in GPS-guided machinery highly advantageous. An established team of working dogs, or a firm commitment to developing one. Register your interest If you feel that you're the right fit for this position, please submit an up-to-date resume along with the contact details of 3 references.
